Frog Spotting in the Amazon
Keep your eye out for a poison frog in the Ecuadorian Amazon. While on the Sacha Lodge property, along the Rio Napo, I spotted one while spending four hours scanning the leaves along the trails. These frogs are small, just the size of a dime, and despite their brilliant colors, blend into the leaf litter. Many of the vivaciously colored animals live high up in the Amazonian canopy. But if you're poisonous, you can show off all the color you want and live at the very bottom of the rainforest.
