A Blue Mountain Hot-spot
It's hard to miss Rusty’s. It’s the closest bar to the main chairlift at Blue Mountain (one hopes that makes it an après-ski versus pre-ski hot spot) and come nightfall it’s swathed in a band of lime-green Christmas lights.
There's a pool table inside, and big screen TV at one end—an area that, come weekends, is venue for dancing to the live DJ they bring in.
Decidedly rustic (a carved wooden bulldog five feet high sits atop a similarly carved Coors bottle at one end of the bar), it’s decorated with skis and boards, barnwood, and old posters. The sign to the washroom says “Outhouse.”
Lots of draft on tap and tonight, in August, the big screen TV is playing a hockey game from twenty years ago.
Have one of the many drafts they offer here and you’ll be looking for your skates.
