Russky Island

Visitors come to Russky Island for the taiga landscape and to admire the nearby islets, small bays and rocky coves that are interspersed with fine beaches. Long off-limits as part of a military zone, the island is now open via the stunning stay-cable Russky Bridge. Just over the span, the Soviet-era Voroshilov Battery, with its guns still pointed out over the Pacific, is a branch of Vladivostok’s Fortress Museum. On a small peninsula, an enormous oceanarium opened in 2016.
