Conveniently located within walking distance of the shops and restaurants in Frigate Bay, the Royal St. Kitts may not look like much from the outside, but what the family-run hotel lacks in curb appeal it makes up for in comfort. The 215 guest rooms, which were recently renovated, feature kitchenettes with stainless steel appliances, plush beds with graphic linens, and modern glass showers. While the resort isn’t on a beach—guest have access to the sand at the waterfront St. Kitts Marriot Resort—the property’s championship golf course and two pools (one with saltwater) don’t disappoint. Neither do views of a private lagoon and forested mountains, both of which are part of the hotel’s 18 lush acres. It’s all enough to make you forget you’re just 10 minutes from the airport.
