Best Cheap 'n Cheerful Restaurant in Luang Prabang
On a deck overlooking the Nam Khan River and with just 6 tables, Rosella Fusion Restaurant is a secret favourite with expats in Luang Prabang. The restaurant offers amazing value for tasty Thai and Lao dishes like pad thai and spicy Lao beef noodle salad. My usual? Hot-sour-salty-sweet Tom Yum Soup. The enormous bowl arrives bursting with fresh veg, tofu, fragrant kaffir lime, lemongrass, galangal, basil and a bit of chilli to warm the soul. It's divine, and only $3.
The kitchen is small and the wait staff is very sweet. Be patient for the food to arrive - this is Laos P.D.R (aka Laos Please Don't Rush) after all. So sip on a Beer Lao or a fresh fruit shake (I recommend pineapple with coconut milk) and enjoy the view.
Location: Kingkitsarat Road, Ban Vat Sene (Village), in the peninsula on the Nam Khan River across from Apsara Hotel. Closed Sundays.
