Departure Morning, Roosevelt National Forest
After a brief stay at Estes Park near Rocky Mountain National Park we drove back a crisp frigid Sunday morning in the first week of March to Denver to catch our flight. The sunrise through the mountains was too beautiful to pass up and we had to stop and take a picture. We had just received about 6 inches of snow the day prior and were left with clear skys and pristine snow. The temperature in the valley was so cold that when I blew the snow from a lens cap, that I had so clumsily dropped, some snow turned to water with the heat from my breath, but in the time it took for me to pull my camera around the water had already frozen solid.
