Joy often starts her day at Rock Island Coffee, in the heart of Hamilton. A stop for breakfast here is the fastest way for any visitor to find out what is happening on the island—everyone has time to share tips on how you should spend your vacation. The inviting, laid back café is hung with works by local artists. It has been famous, since opening in 1995, for serving one of the island’s best cups of coffee (they have their own roasting room). Don’t miss the incredible baked goods as well, with brownies, scones, muffins, and more all baked by Kerry Petty in the downstairs kitchen. “All walks of life come here,” Joy says. “And the baristas know everything going on in Bermuda.”
