Sure, there are a lot of things to do in Naperville. It's a pretty big town. But really, the best thing to do is nothing, as long as I'm doing it along the Riverwalk. Round trip, it's three miles that cover both woods and downtown, in about equal doses. Anytime I don't feel like getting my exercise on the regular neighborhood streets, the Riverwalk is my favorite “something different.”
Different it always is. Yet the regular favorites remain—visiting with the ducks, crossing the covered bridge, stopping at the 9/11 memorial, watching the toddlers play in the fountains, finding a new store, and, more than likely, rewarding myself for the walk with a Red Mango frozen yogurt. Because sometimes the best thing to do is just to be.
