Riverfront Drinks

Lined by huge cypress trees, this section of the river is pristine. This is the perfect area to have a riverfront drink! Get a coffee to-go at Cafecito or sit down on the patio outside Zocca. The Rivewalk is also perfectly situated in the heart of downtown San Antonio so you can have a moment of relaxation in nature between activities and sights.

Rolling On

The development and expansion of a northern stretch of the River Walk, known as the Museum Reach and which opened in 2009, offers river access to the San Antonio Museum of Art. Also on the river’s bank is the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts, opened in fall 2014, and the upcoming Hotel Emma, part of the Pearl culinary and entertainment complex, located in a re-imagined brewhouse.

Wildlife Along the San Antonio River Walk

The San Antonio River Walk is teaming with wildlife and nature. Hundred year-old cypress trees provide a tremendous canopy over the river and the landscaping is impeccable. The river is lined with flowers and beautiful greenery which creates a perfect environment for the many birds that call the River Walk home. We saw some beautiful ducks during our walk along the river and couldn’t help but take photographs of a few! When you’re walking down by the river it is hard to believe that you are in the heart of downtown of the second largest city in Texas. The River Walk is tranquil and serene.
