Joan Crawford was born in San Antonio as Lucille Fay LeSueur in 1904. Although Crawford's reputation as a Mom is somewhat tarnished, her stellar creds as a silent star and golden days of movie queen are untouched. You can soak up some Crawford mojo by visiting her wax figure at the Ripley's Believe it Or Not wax museum across the street from the Alamo. (Joan is the one in the yellow dress.) You can also visit the Menger Hotel Bar, which was one of Joan's favorite watering holes when she was in town.
