Lunchtime at Sandy McGee’s is an experience reminiscent of mealtime at your grandmother’s house, mixed with your childhood lunch hour with your closest friends, and all served by your friendly neighbor, Sandy. The original restaurant opened back in 1986, in an old historic home in downtown Rosenberg before moving to a bigger location in neighboring Richmond (about a 45-minute drive from Houston). It's still the kind of place where regulars can walk in and know half of the restaurant. Sandy became famous locally for her broccoli cheese soup, chicken salad, and delicious desserts, all made on-site daily from scratch. You can have a light and healthy meal at Sandy McGee’s, but with her selection of old-fashioned malts and shakes, cobblers, pies, and cheesecakes, we don’t recommend it.
