Where to begin. From the minute we walked through the big arched doors of Riad Le Ksar de Fes, The manager is so welcoming, giving us a choice of rooms, and ensuring our comfort. He helped direct into town and even drew out a map for us to follow. The Riad itself is on the outside of Fes, about a 20 minute drive. For us, coming from Merzouga, the desert, after an 8hour ride- this was a perfect accessible location with parking. The next day when we wanted to head into town and visit the medina, we parked our car at the local supermarket "Marjane" and then took a taxi into the busy town. This allowed us to avoid traffic and headaches with parking.
Highly recommend eating at the Riad, it is a set menu. Comes with appetizer, entree, dessert. AMAZING food, best tajine and couches we have had in Morocco. Fatima, the cook, makes food as if she were cooking for her family. She puts love, spices, and a smile on the plate. We loved the ambiance and tranquility the Riad offered. Unfortunately due to the fact that it is January we didn't get to go swimming in the pool. But the grounds and gardens full of roses are a site to see.
Once again, beautiful and tasteful road, decorated "Modern Moroccan style", phenomenal food to leave your mouth watering, and the most welcoming staff we have encountered.
