These colorful fishing boats are moored in the Ria da Aveiro at Costa Nova, Aveiro.
The Costa Nova is a seashore town. There are many little souvenir shops, good restaurants offering very fresh seafood and fish. People go there for the eels and spit roasted chicken that are the specialties of the area. The pastry shops are crowded in the afternoon where a good pastry and an expresso are the usual. I thoroughly enjoyed mine.
A stroll along the riverfront is a great pastime. It gives you time to observe the surroundings.
The Costa Nova reminds me of the beach towns in New Jersey and Maryland with a European twist.
I happily visit this area each time that I go to Aveiro.
