One of Geneva's most prestigious chocolate stores in the world is the Du Rhône Chocolatier in Geneva where manager Madame Liliane Fumex and staff hold court over an artisanal process that's been luring chocoholics, including some rich and famous ones, since 1875 (satisfied customers over the years have included Charles de Gaulle, Grace Kelly, JFK, and Winston Churchill). Joe and I got a chance to visit the kitchen and taste some of their sumptuous creations. Visitors to the shop can get the same kitchen tour and tasting and see 20 pounds of melted chocolate goodness poured out on a table before your hungry eyes. You'll also be able to see some of Du Rhône Chocolatier's most artful chocolate sculptures including a chocolate shoe and a chocolate handbag (accessories even the fashion-challenged can appreciate!). If the chocolate tasting isn't enough, visit the adjacent tearoom for hot chocolate or a chocolate-infused coffee.
