Endless Carpaccio in Reims
If you find yourself making the 1 1/2 hour journey from Paris to Reims, you may be on your way to tour the authentic champagne vineyards of France. This city has much more to offer than just bubbly, though. A lovely little downtown is home to Reims Cathedral, a handful of history and art museums, and restaurants and cafes that rival those in Paris. The discovery I loved most, however, was endless carpaccio plates. Delicately thin slices of carpaccio drizzled in olive oil, lemon juice and a sprinkling of pepper adorn large white plates, which are brought to the table four at a time... how many plates are too many plates? That's for you to decide. But be sure to bring your appetite!
