A great way to learn about Reston’s history is by visiting the Reston Historic Trust (Reston Museum). Founded in 1996, this nonprofit organization continues to be an innovative influence on the local community.
The Reston Museum & Shop offers exhibits, walking tours, and various public events throughout the year. Most of these educational programs take place in the Lake Anne Historic District of Reston. Many of the people helping with these cultural programs are volunteers who help with everything from administrative work to web development.
After a few days of eating and drinking your way through Reston, visiting the museum helps give you some perspective on the area. Visitors can stop by Tuesday through Sunday to learn more about their new surroundings.
