Restaurant Barrachina

104 Calle Fortaleza

The first thing you should know about Barrachina is that it claims to have invented the piña colada, so stopping by to have one is a must! Served in a tall glass filled to the brim, it’s garnished with a maraschino cherry and pineapple slice, and is the perfect balance of pineapple, coconut, and rum. For something to eat, the waiter recommended the Mofongo with shrimp, saying that Mofongo is Puerto Rico’s only actual authentic dish. The mashed plantains mixed with garlic and spices were topped with fresh shrimp, and along with the piña colada, this meal served as the perfect midday break!
