Koreans take Karaoke very seriously. But instead of belting it out in front of a large crowd, private rooms for singing with friends are all the rage. One of the largest and most popular karaoke bars (or as Korean's call them noraebangs, meaning "singing rooms") is nestled in the Hongdae area of Seoul.
Located near Hongik University, the area is one of the most popular nightlife haunts in the capital. Luxury Su Noraebang is decked out in glamour—large rooms with plush couches and big screen TVs, velvet armchairs and gilt edged mirrors. It's always crowded...book early for any hope of a ballad.
