Svalbard reindeer have short legs and a relatively short, round head with powerful antlers, brown fur on their back and tan fur on their belly. They are nomadic and generally travel in herds through areas with no snow or glaciers, and can often be seen poking around the slopes of the fjord. The Svalbard reindeer makes a low grunting or snorting sound, although this may not be audible from the ship deck. Keep your eyes open when you cruise by as they travel along the intermittently snow-free slopes of Magdalenafjord.
