Russian SpritzHot, steamy and quirky. Red Square is an upscale, traditional Russian-style bathhouse that includes a full bar, restaurant, and spa/salon services.
I went with two friends and the three of us made the acquaintance of a group of stocky, betoweled Russians (one also wore a felt aviator hat with a big red star on the front despite the sauna's 170º temperature). I love that this place delivers drinks to you in the sauna.
The Russians engaged my friend Mike in rounds of vodka shots (maybe not the healthiest thing to do while shvitzing?) while Kavita and I each indulged in a plaitza (a massage/rubdown with leafy oak twigs, which feels much better than it sounds).
Afterwards we met in the bar for a bite to eat.
Red Square is something different to do once a year or so when it's cold and dismal outside.
