Discover Ancient Petroglyphs in Red Rock State Park
On the way down from Cathedral Rock, our guide asked to show us something along the way that was not in any tour book.
As we hiked alongside the red rocks and trees growing in spiral forms, we came across a clearing covered by brush.
Venturing off of the beaten path, we found ourselves climbing upwards until we reached our destination. There, right before us, lay dozens of rock carvings, dating back more 2,000 years. These carvings depict hunting scenes and were meant to serve as a message to fellow tribes that the land was fertile.
This magnificent display of ancient tribal art is virtually untouched (and unfindable without a guide).
