Celebrating the New Year’s Eve in Railay Beach was an absolutely unforgettable experience. A paradise for rock climbers and beach goers alike, this small island located 2 hours south of Phuket provided such a wonderful backdrop for a New Year Celebration, which included lighting of fire lanterns and releasing them into the night sky. We arrived during the Songkran Festival (Water Festival) The whole stretch of Aonang beach was filled with local & international tourist. We rented a scooter from the Aonang Beach Resort (really great place!) and explored the area. Halal food for Muslims are abundant, better than Phuket. People was really nice & helpful. Took a day trip to 4 islands. Went to Phi Phi last time we went to Phuket. Phi Phi is definitely better for snorkeling.
