Cliff Ramen is a special place. It's the definition of kodawari ramenya (こだわりらめんや, artisanal ramen restaurant). Every aspect of its incredibly flavorful, precisely calculated ramen and tsukemen is made in-house from scratch, including all noodles. Their charshu (roast pork) is sliced by hand for each bowl and then lightly seared on each side prior to plating.
Ordering is done at a vending machine when you walk in. Unfortunately, the vending machine is only in Japanese. Never fear, I'm here to help: their regular menu includes a chicken cream dashi bowl, an anchovy dashi bowl (いりこ or iriko), and a miso bowl. They also offer a wontonmen bowl and a special bowl which changes fairly regularly. Everything is delicious. You absolutely can't go wrong. You're welcome.
