A Estate in the oldest demarcated Wine Region in the World
The estate was established in 1716 and is located on the banks of the Corgo River, a tributary of the Douro River. The Alto Douro Wine Region was declared, by UNESCO, as a World Heritage site in 2001.
You’re welcome to stay for the night, as from 2005, Quinta do Vallado has a Wine Hotel and you can choose between a room in the Manor House or a room at the new building, where I spent my night. The main material used is the slate (predominant in the region) and in the rooms is used along with wood.
To relax or read a book, the rooms have a balcony or sit in one of the living rooms next to the fire place. If you are an active person, you can choose between several activities such as fishing, bicycles and canoeing.
Being in a Quinta, you will be able to visit the cellar and do some wine tasting of Douro Wine.
