The Palazzo Querini Stampalia Museum is one of the best small house museums in the city for its architecture and period interiors. This former residence belonged to Venice's Querini Stampalia family and is great to visit if you're interested in learning about how this noble Venetian family, one of the founding families of the Venetian republic, lived and luxuriated. Quiet, and rarely thronged with tourists, this museum has an outstanding collection of priceless furniture, paintings, porcelains, globes, fabrics and sculptures. The museum also has a free library, open to visitors over 16 years of age, with hundreds of periodicals, and archives about Venetian history.
