The hike to The Quarry Rock lookout starts in the village of Deep Cove. The 1.9 km path (one way) winds its way along the Baden-Powell trail and ends with wonderful views of Deep Cove and the eastern side of Vancouver.
The trail is well-marked and very busy in the summer. Although classified as easy for locals, there is a climb and it gets a little steep in places.
You can picnic on the rock, or have a nice lunch in the village of Deep Cove afterwards. Try the sandwiches at Honey Doughnuts...and of course, have the namesake treat.
Deep Cove is ~20 minutes drive from downtown. Get there early int the summer because parking can be a challenge. Translink buses go there from the city as well.
