It is said that a trip to Beijing can’t be complete without having a real Peking duck experience. I tried the Peking duck at the biggest Peking duck restaurant in the world—Quanjude (全聚德). This restaurant is assigned by the Chinese authorities to welcome political figures and government leaders (many of whom appear in photos lining the corridors).
The staff is very nice and professional. Before eating, we were treated to a demonstration showing how to taste the Peking duck in the most authentic way. The roast duck is toothsome, juicy and tender. The skin is crispy and a very beautiful color of shiny brown (and not greasy at all).
