I am not gonna lie, while in Saxony you will eat a lot of pork but some places are better than others. One great place is restaurant Pulverturm, a former Powder Tower fortification used to store gunpowder. Decorated in medieval style, the restaurant has themed rooms including a torture dinning room where elements of torture are right on the table. It's obviously decorated for tourists but does not border kitschy. But this restaurant's strong quality is its food. I especially enjoyed the suckling pig with kraut and Saxon dumplings, a meal I would have over and over again.
