Be a Turtle-Loving Eco Hero
There’s no greater thrill or satisfaction than knowing you’ve helped protect an endangered species and this family-friendly turtle camp gives you just that. Every year Olive Ridley Turtles return to their birthplace of the beautiful Bay of Banderos to lay their eggs. The survival rate of their hatchlings is very low, but on Flamingos Beach there is a turtle farm, dedicated to the harvesting, hatching, and releasing of the baby sea turtles—you can join in and help out at their Turtle Camp from August 1–January 31. You’ll gather eggs from the beach and then release the hatchlings that have been cared for in the nursery—magical!
