Excellent Microbrews on the Ile d'Orleans
If you are traveling through Quebec and are looking for a taste of locally crafted beer, seek out anything produced by the Microbrasserie de l'Ile d'Orléans. I tried three of their brews, and loved every one (including one made using local maple syrup, that had a pleasingly smooth, smoky finish). If you're on the Ile d'Orleans, you can head to the brewery pub itself, Pub Le Mitan—the interior is curiously modern, and more sports bar than old-world pub, but the beer is worth the trek.
