With the opening of the Café du Cycliste on Nice’s Quai des Docks, biking has become the thing to do along the iconic Promenade des Anglais. Rent bikes at the Roller Station, then join crowds pedaling along the “Prom,” with the Mediterranean Sea on one side and the Alps rising on the other. If you’d prefer to take part in the local bike-share program, look for the Vélo Bleu docking stations found across the city. Sign up by mobile phone for a one-day, 1-euro membership that gets you the first 30 minutes free, then costs 1 euro for every 30 minutes thereafter until the bike is returned to any docking station. Once returned, the time counter is reset to zero.
