Whether or not you are staying in the fashionable W Hotel in the historic Foshay Tower, Prohibition Bar will grab your attention. It's on the 27th floor of this landmark building completed in 1929, and was the intended apartment for the original owner, Wilbur Foshay. Foshay found himself in trouble when the bills for the opening gala came due simultaneously with the big Crash. Prohibition Bar is in synch with its surroundings, offering classic cocktails like the Manhattan pictured here, and edgy creations of the day. The setting is superb: you can settle into a cozy retreat for privacy or make yourself known in front of the period art deco elevator doors. Definitely hide out here before or after a dinner at Manny's Steakhouse down on the main level.
