The Book Lover's Street Fest
With the many street festivals that squeeze into Chicago's short number of summer weekends, hawking fried 'fill-in-the-blank' food and disturbing neighbors with loud cover bands, this festival is a breath of fresh air.

The annual Printer's Row Lit Fest is a feast for the literary nerd in all of us, located in the heart of Chicago's historic Printer's Row neighborhood.

If you're committed to reading e-books only, you can click on another Highlight now. This outdoor festival is for the paper purist -- the literature loving, hardcover carrying, book collecting enthusiast who doesn't mind earmarking a yellowy page once in awhile.

Lit Fest is lined with books, posters, comic books and magazines (yes, there is a place for old National Geographics), more than enough to satisfy the curious browser or the serious reader.
