You know summertime in San Francisco has arrived when the Presidio Picnic by Off the Grid and Presidio Trust returns. It's San Francisco’s largest community picnic and is held each Sunday from mid-March through October on the Main Parade Ground of the Presidio, just outside the visitor center. The event is family- and pet-friendly, relaxing, and a great way to spend a day eating around San Francisco. Bring a blanket, a few chairs, a Frisbee, or a good book. There are more than 30 food trucks on-site serving tacos, banh mi sandwiches, ice cream, sangria, bubble tea, eggs Benedict, and just about anything else you're craving. Lines are often long, so arrive early. Some vendors also offer preordering so you can skip the lines. There's more to just eating and drinking and admiring the bay view, too: Take part in a morning yoga class, play lawn games, or get the kids going with some arts and crafts. There is often live music to provide a soundtrack for your experience.
