Pour Taproom Charleston
It’s a regional chain with nine locations, but Pour in Charleston
is worth visiting for the view. Its perch on the 9th floor of Upper King’s Hyatt Hotel makes it the highest rooftop bar in a city that prides itself on low-rise historic buildings. It’s an excellent vantage at sunset or under the stars to sample 68 beers, ciders, wines, and cocktails on tap. Payment and service is digital, via a lanyard with a QR code, allowing patrons to try a single ounce here and there and hone in on their favorite brew. There’s a simple menu of elevated (no pun) bar snacks, sandwiches, and tacos, including a spicy duck option, to satiate hunger pangs as you take in the view. Ample indoor and outdoor seating and tabletop games make it a worthy gathering place for groups.
