Pont Saint-Louis

Ice Cream and Dancing on a Parisian Bridge
On the narrow, pedestrian only bridge Pont St Louis that connects the eastern part of the larger island of Paris (Isle de la Cite) and Isle St Louis, a weekend afternoon in search of the famed Bertillon ice cream can mean live music and dancing while you snack.

When I was living in the city, there was a group of ex pats from New Orleans that had formed a jazz ensemble called the Wedding Band. They were fantastic and played for tips, while locals and visitors alike, biked, skated, walked and danced by. Fingers sticky from the melting cassis or white chocolate and faces grinning at the mid-day snack.
