Ponce City Market North Northeast
Ponce City Market N NE, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA
Ponce City MarketPonce City Market, located in the historic Sears, Roebuck & Co. building, opened its doors in 2014 to become a bustling hub for the Old Fourth Ward, and nearby Virginia-Highland, Poncey-Highland, and Midtown neighborhoods, all in walking distance. At the heart of three huge brick buildings is a humming marketplace with an extensive food hall and a good selection of shops. My favorite one was Citizen Supply, on the second floor, that featured a well curated selection of artisan goods by local and international makers. Don't miss it!
Architecturally, Ponce City Market is a feast for the eyes. Many of the historic details of the building have been kept in place and are well preserved. The redevelopment, which must have been a massive undertaking, has been completed with integrity. As a result, the project has been welcomed and embraced by the local community.
Note on the side: Ponce City Market offers direct access to the Beltine, so you could make that part of your adventure, too!
Warm thanks to the fun and fabulous Hotel Clermont for hosting me while I explored Atlanta, a city that keeps getting better with each visit.
