Pompierre Beach
To get to Terre-de-Haut’s most popular beach, you have to walk from the town and harbor, located on the west coast, all the way to the eastern shore. But this is a tiny island, and so the walk is only 1.6 kilometers (one mile), with some steep stretches along the way. Once you get to Pompierre, you’ll find a shallow bay protected by a peninsula on one side and a string of islands on the other. Its calm, clear waters mean it can get crowded—not only with people, but with goats that graze the hillsides above it.
