While in Chinatown, I suggest popping into Pok Pok for a refreshing libation like the fizzy Naam Manao limeade, which really hits the spot on a hot L.A. day. (The restaurant is the latest outpost from chef Andy Ricker, who has won raves for his authentic Thai food—chicken wings included.) I asked the bartender if I could photograph him while he made my drink, and he had no issues with my request. Since the restaurant was dimly lit, I used a large aperture to capture more light while still keeping the photo clear. Many point-and-shoot cameras have a difficult time with interior shots, but the PowerShot G5 X delivered great results.
