A dear friend brought her favorite people here to join her on her favorite hike, now its one of my favorites too. We made the hour and a half drive north from San Francisco with the smell of eucalyptus and view of cows grazing on the rolling green hills. The trailhead is home to an old dairy farm with beautiful white barns. The trail is about ten miles roundtrip to the point and back. On the trail we passed a elk and enjoyed breathtaking views with the Pacific Ocean to one side and Tomales Bay on the other. Making it to the end is well worth it and the perfect spot for a picnic but trail can be managed by most anyone and this view is a mere 30 minute hike from the parking lot. I highly recommend stopping off near Point Reyes to stretch at The Marshall Store with a few BBQ oysters on the bay.
