This state natural reserve is a perfect highlight of Northern California's coast. Trails meander through trees, along the craggy coastline and down to tide pools. With California poppy's blooming, cypress trees clinging to rocks and aquamarine waters, it's easy to understand why painters set up their easels along the paths. Park docents also have their camera's positioned so that you can spy on baby seals or playful otters or maybe catch a passing whale. Knowledgeable and chatty they can answer all your questions, and don't forget to stop in at the Whaler's Cabin and learn some local history.
