Point Cartwright

This headland unveils stunning views of Mooloolaba and Kawana Beach to the south. A lighthouse has guided ships here since 1897, but the most recent version—a late-1970s concrete pillar—looks like something straight out of The Jetsons. The tower remains closed to the public, though visitors are welcome to wander the site. Be extremely careful if you climb down to swim: Strong rips run out against the headland, and fierce tidal currents often occur near the creek.
