Lenin is Alive and Well in Minsk
Wanna know what it was like to live in the USSR? Yes? Good, then go to Minsk. It won't perfectly replicate an old Soviet state but you can stroll the wide military-procession-friendly boulevards of the Belarusian capital and eye statues from the Soviet era that have curiously never been removed. On Independence Square, there's a gargantuan statue of Lenin watching over, what former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called, "Europe's last dictatorship."
