Montezuma Beach, Puntarenas Province, Santa Fe, Costa Rica
Montezuma - road less traveledI love Montezuma. It's a small fishing town with one main street and a few restaurants scattered around. The main Montezuma beach is lovely, strewn with rocks but further down about 20 minutes away is Playa Grande.
The waters are warm, shallow and the waves are just right for amateur surfing. I learnt how to surf and fell in love. Both with surfing, and with the sleepy town of Montezuma.
If you ever get a chance to celebrate NYE here, don't miss it. The whole town gathers at Chico's bar and then spills out on to the beach to hang out by bonfires.
