Referred to by locals as “Treasure Island” due to the island’s legendary past as many pirates’ favored spots for stowing treasure, Norman Island is said to have been one of the islands that inspired Robert Louis Stevenon’s famous novel of the same name. Today the real treasure on the island is found offshore at the caves, where visitors can snorkel or dive around to spot the jewel-toned tropical fish.
