Piper's Opera House

save place
Historic opera house (and steampunk venue)
Built in 1885 after a fire destroyed the earlier 1878 version (which in turn replaced the first version built in 1863, which also burnt down).

Mark Twain spoke on the stage here, and it was the training facility for the heavyweight boxing champion of 1897.

In more modern times (since 2010), it has become a popular location for an annual Victorian Steampunk ball.
