If you love bacon and you're in Vancouver, you simply must track down Pig on the Street. This local food truck that changes locations can be tracked down via their twitter feed, or if you download the Vancouver Street Food app.
Operating out of a converted Westfalia van, Pig on the Street uses locally produced and sourced goods. This includes humanely treated pork products from pigs which are fed a healthy diet.
My favorite is the Southern Piggy, which has double smoked bacon, bourbon BBQ sauce, grilled peppers, roasted corn, farmhouse cheddar, greens and chipotle mayo. You wait for your order to be called according to your selected pink pig marker that has clever nickname.
It's worth getting a bacon cheddar twisty bread while you wait!
UPDATE: Pig on the Street's food truck is no longer, but they sell their bacon cheddar twistry breads and other fare to many of the local microbreweries.
