Discover Rickshaws in Southeast Asia
Southeast Asia abounds with diverse modes of transportation, and Overseas Adventure Travel’s Ancient Kingdoms: Thailand, Laos, Cambodia & Vietnam trip lets you experience many of them. On this adventure, we'll visit the ancient Thai city of Ayutthaya founded in the 14th century and explore the area by long-tail boat—so-named for its long, thin design. As we coast along the Chao Phraya River, we'll see villagers engaging in their daily routines along the banks. In the charming city of Luang Prabang, Laos, we'll use tuk-tuks, a three-wheeled motorized rickshaw, to navigate the inner city where buses aren’t allowed. Our exploration of Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh, includes a ride on a remok, that country’s version of the tuk-tuk.
