Cupcakes for you and pupcakes for poochie [CLOSED]
Some may argue that cupcakes are "out" or "over" but for my sweet tooth, they will always be in. There are endless wonderful bakeries and food trucks in Philly from which to to get these sweet treats, and I've honestly tried cupcakes from all of those places. (hmm... that might be why my pants don't fit!) My favorite spot of the moment is Philly Cupcake on the corner of 12th and Chestnut Streets. The store itself is a visual delight, from the eclectically decorated mannequin lady in the front window to the glass-front cupboards in the shop that display today's cupcake flavors. The cupcakes are whimsically and artistically decorated and the flavor combinations are always creative and delicious. Be sure to look for the inventive seasonal varieties, such as the caramel apple cupcake. Besides the honest to goodness yumminess of the cupcakes, the coffee, cookies and chocolates are also top-notch. In addition, I love to buy the fresh baked dog treats here for my dog. Daisy celebrate the 12th anniversary of her adoption earlier this year by feasting on the peanut butter and sweet potato "pupcakes" from Philly Cupcake. Although the pupcakes may not be suitable for travel when you're returning home from Philly, there are other homemade dog treats available here that you can bring home to your pooch. Bring cash, because the store does not accept credit cards.
