Locavore Cuisine on the Neuse River
Home to the 2013 Fire on the Dock North Carolina Competition Dining Series Champion, Executive Chef Gerry Fong, and his crew at Persimmons Waterfront Restaurant have been heating up the restaurant scene with "locavore" cuisine by fusing his Asian heritage with Carolina-sourced foods. While the menu always changes, one thing remains steadfast: Persimmons' dedication to sourcing locally. You'll find items on the menu such as Pepsi-brined pork tenderloins with fresh pea shoots and local cheeses (as shown above). Persimmons hosts a number of annual events such as wine dinners paired with specially prepared dishes, summer music on the waterfront, party headquarters for the Colonial SUP race, neighbor to Tryon Palace, and hosts an electric Fourth of July scene. Whether you dine inside or out on the deck with a gorgeous view of the Neuse River, Persimmons Restaurant raises the bar for Eastern Carolina cuisine.
